Overview

Banners is a fast tactical strategy game about the fight for castles. A battle takes about a minute: send squads down the roads, route them through waypoints, capture villages, towers, barracks and forges — and get there before your rival does. Four factions with tempers of their own: humans, barbarians, dwarves and elves. Fifteen chapters and 318 maps of rising difficulty — from a first scrap over three castles to maps with one-way roads, bandit camps and dens that cannot be taken at all, only outlasted. Captured buildings grant bonuses to your whole army, and choosing what to take first decides the battle. Victories earn stars, and special feats earn banners: 51 rewards, every one of them worked for. Progress is kept in the cloud and continues on any device.

Game instructions

Tap your castle to select it, then tap an enemy or neutral one — your troops will march there. You can select several of your castles at once, or press "All castles". Drag with a finger or the mouse through waypoints to route your troops around a dangerous stretch. While castles are selected, the bar below shows how many will leave and from where. It is also where you set the size: "Half", "All in", or "Exact" — precisely what the capture needs and not one soldier more. Next to it is "Rally": the castle keeps sending reinforcements to one point until you press "Cancel rally". The usual win is to capture every enemy castle. Sometimes the task differs: take a named point, last out a set time, or hold your ground against the pressure from a den. A den cannot be captured — a strike only knocks its garrison down. On a phone: tap to select and send, drag to draw a route, pinch to zoom.
