Overview

Pride and Prejudice is a story-driven match-3 based on Jane Austen's novel. 25 levels across five acts: from the first ball at Meryton and three miles of muddy fields to Lady Catherine's Rosings, Mr Darcy's letter and Pemberley itself. Every level is a scene: the characters speak before each round, and afterwards you learn how it turned out. Fifty hand-drawn scenes fill the Diary, leafed through like a picture book. The board is made of Regency things: a quill, a fan, a teacup, a garden rose, a wax-sealed letter, a myrtle sprig and an amethyst brooch. In your way stand ivy, dust sheets, marble columns, Lady Catherine's pug, candle wax, and gossip that recolours whatever stands beside it. Three levels are duels of wit: Miss Bingley's drawing room, the first proposal, Lady Catherine's visit. Progress saves to the cloud: start on a computer, continue on a phone.

Game instructions

Swap adjacent pieces to line up three or more. A move only counts if a line actually forms. The counter at the top shows your moves; the goals sit on the left. There are five kinds: • collect a number of pieces of one kind; • clear the marked tiles — match on them or beside them; • fill the highlighted area; • untie the lacing; • bring your opponent's composure down to zero. A line of four creates the violin bow or the lace parasol, sweeping a whole row or column. Five in a row gives you Mr Darcy's letter, which clears every piece of one kind. Crossing lines tip over a teapot that splashes everything around it. Obstacles break from a line made on them or beside them. The number shows how many hits are left. A marble column cannot be removed; play around it. Lacing ties two squares with a single knot: hit either half to loosen it, or cover both at once to untie it twice as fast. Cascades hit harder. Your stars depend on how many moves you saved.
