Overview

Start with one ship and build a trading fleet. Explore 16 Caribbean ports with their own goods, production and prices. Buy low, sell high, build workshops and invest in property. Choose from seven ship types, upgrade equipment and hire crew. Lead your personal squadron into battle or let captains handle trade. Sell spare ships at the shipyard. Command each ship in naval battles: set its course, choose a target and time your volleys. Buy round shot, grapeshot and chain shot. Close in to board an enemy or retreat to save your fleet. Auto battle is also available. Blockade ports, defeat forts and capture cities. Set taxes, manage the economy and maintain garrisons. Each holding faces its own counterattack. Complete missions, hunt for treasure and challenge a legendary pirate and his escorts. Grow through trade, conquest or both.

Game instructions

Click or tap the sea or a port and choose Sail. Open the city after docking. Compare market prices, transport goods and watch provisions, cargo space and expenses. Buy and repair ships at the shipyard, upgrade equipment and hire crew and captains. Send captains to trade and keep warships in your personal squadron. You can sell empty spare ships, but not your flagship. Buy ammunition at the market before battle. Select your ship, set its course and choose a target. On a computer, right-click an enemy to attack; on a touch screen, use the target menu. Choose ammunition and a fire mode. Move close to board. Pause to issue orders, or enable auto battle to hand over control. To capture a city, start a blockade and defeat its fort. Use the residence or Company screen to set taxes, manage the economy and maintain each holding's garrison. Watch loyalty and the counterattack deadline.
